Charleston Farmhouse is one of those places that seems to radiate inspiration from every corner. Set in the beautiful Sussex countryside, this former home of the Bloomsbury artists Vanessa Bell, sister of Virginia Woolf, and painter Duncan Grant was gradually transformed into a work of art in itself. Painted walls, textiles, ceramics, furniture and carefully considered details blur the line between art and everyday life. For me, Charleston is a wonderful place to learn to train the eye and appreciate the beauty of the applied arts. Virginia Woolf lived nearby at Monk's House and visited Charleston regularly, becoming part of the creative circle that made this place so special.
